In order to send mail from your i29 account, you will need to configure your e-mail client to use authentication for outgoing mail. In Outlook Express, this can be done by checking a box labeled "My server requires authentication" in your account settings. For other mail clients, you may need to look through your settings for an option to use authentication for your outgoing mail server. If you can not find this setting in your client, please contact your client's manufacturer for help.

Changing your e-mail authentication settings in Outlook Express

Begin by opening Outlook Express on your computer. Once Outlook Express is open, click on the Tools menu and select Accounts...

Once the Internet Accounts window is open, click on the Mail tab across the top of the window.

The Mail tab will contain a white box containing your i29 e-mail settings (labeled mail.i29.net in the picture to the right). Click once on the i29 e-mail account in the white box and then click the Properties button. This will open the mail.i29.net Properties window.

Once the mail.i29.net Properties window is open, click on the Servers tab across the top of the window.

At the bottom of the Servers tab, you will see a box labeled My server requires authentication. Make sure there is a check in this box.

You are now finished editing your e-mail account settings. To save the settings, click the Ok or Close buttons on all of the open windows until you are back at the Outlook Express window.
